How to test the safety and performance of storage tank PBU skid

Nov 20, 2024 Leave a message

The safety and performance of storage tank PBU skid can be tested from the following aspects:

Safety Test
Pressure test: Use pressure pump and other equipment to conduct water pressure or air pressure test on booster skid and related pipelines. The test pressure is usually 1.25 to 1.5 times of the design pressure. Maintain the pressure for a certain period of time to observe whether there is leakage, deformation, etc.

Safety valve test: By gradually increasing the pressure, check whether the opening pressure and return pressure of the safety valve are within the specified range to ensure that the safety valve can open and release pressure in time when overpressure occurs, and return to the seat normally after the pressure is restored.

Grounding test: Use a grounding resistance tester to measure the grounding resistance of the booster skid to ensure that it is well grounded. Generally, the grounding resistance is required to be no more than 4 ohms to prevent static electricity accumulation and electrical accidents.

Leak detection: Use helium leak detector or soapy water to carefully check the various connection parts, valves, welds, etc. of the equipment to check whether there is gas leakage.

Performance Test
Pressure regulation performance test: By changing the input pressure and flow, observe whether the output pressure of the booster skid can be stabilized within the set range and whether the adjustment accuracy meets the requirements.

Flow test: Under different working conditions, use a flow meter to measure the actual flow of the booster skid to check whether the designed flow value can be reached, as well as the flexibility and stability of flow regulation.

Response time test: Simulate pressure mutations and other situations, measure the time from pressure change to corresponding adjustment action and pressure stabilization of the booster skid, and evaluate its response speed.

Temperature test: Monitor the temperature changes of key parts during the boosting process to ensure that the equipment will not have abnormal conditions such as overheating during operation, affecting performance and safety.
